Warren Gorge - Arden Hills Four Wheel Drive Track

A must do while enjoying your time at Warren Gorge is to have some serious 4x4 fun.
The Track is for advanced four wheelers and can be conquered by most 4x4's so long as the driver is up for it. The little Jeep got through it unscathed. I must say though, I had the support of a very experienced mate, Jules and his Nissan 4x4.
To gain access to the track, you need permission and a key which can be obtained from the Quorn Tourism Centre at the Historic Quorn Railway building.
The track is on a privatley owned working sheep station so there are rules that you need to abide by. These are all listed in the information sheet upon paying a small fee for using the track.

At the track entrance.
Off we go. My mate Brian opening the gate. The start of a four whell drive adventure which winds through the Arden Hills for 21.5 K's

You need to use low range at all times and use UHF channel 17 just in case there are other drivers on the track.

Steeper than it looks. Let's turn and get a run up.

Up and over.
The Arden Hills landscape is absolutley beautiful and a pleasure to drive through.

Making our way along the top.

Jules and Co in the Nissan

Around the half way mark there is a fantastic picnic spot amongst large gum trees and lined by hills. A perfect spot for lunch with Jules and Co.

Lunch is over. Now for some serious stuff.

And another one. Jules and Co starting the climb with Brian watching on.

My turn.

The little Jeep, doing just fine.

Along the track.

Going down.

And down.

Still going down. Very rough surface.

Jules going up another hill

Along another mountain top. Fantastic view.

Breathtaking.

Toward the end of the track.

A well earned rest at the end of the day. No better way to reflect on your drive than by sharing a campfire with your mates.
